Hello there D.M.-azing D365 Community!
Are you ready to explore and unbox another feature in Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations? Well, let us not keep each other waiting and here’s another article which I want to share with you all.
Let us discuss in this article on how we can make use of the feature Business rules for fixed assets determination. Business rules for fixed assets determination is designed to create applicable conditions to identify purchases to qualify as fixed assets.
But before we can use this feature there are prerequisite set ups that we need to maintain.
- Set up an active procurement category
- Set up Fixed assets module
- Set up Organization-wide fixed asset identifiers under Procurement and Sourcing module
Once done with the above, we can now proceed in creating conditions for Business rules for fixed assets determination.
a. Navigate Procurement and Sourcing > Setup > Fixed assets > Business rules for fixed assets determination > Click New
b. Enter name and description for your Fixed asset rule
c. Under procurement categories section, select applicable procurement categories that you need to use
d. Under organization-wide rule section, enter the amount of capitalization threshold for a purchase to qualify as fixed assets, and other necessary conditions.
Note: You can also create Fixed asset rule per legal entity.
Let us now try this Fixed asset rule in a transaction.
Create a Purchase requisition and select the procurement category on the fixed asset rule.
Once approved, the Purchase requisition can now be converted as a Purchase order and can now proceed the standard Purchase order process and invoicing.
I hope that you find this article as a helpful tool for you to better appreciate and understand, everything and anything, about Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations.
It will truly be a privilege if you will allow me to know your thoughts and suggestions for me to further improve the coming featured articles on our blog.
