Business value:
Inventory closing reverse creates batch jobs for each impacted item which might throttle the batch server if there are too many items. This feature enables the process to use the 'Extra batch helpers' which is currently used by the inventory closing process. Please can adjust the setting to optimize the performance considering your environment.
Enable feature: Enable user-defined batch number setup for inventory closing reverse:
- Navigate to workspaces > Feature management.
- Select feature name ‘Enable user-defined batch number setup for inventory closing reverse and then, in the details pane, select Enable Now. The feature is turned on.
- Please refer to the following link for Feature management overview.
- The feature has been initially released for APP 10.0.18 and then it has been backported to earlier versions, so you have to deploy the following fix as per the available quality update of the support version. “When an inventory close is cancelled, items are not bundled, instead a batch task is created for each item.”

- Also, the value should be aligned with System administration >Setup > Batch group > Select batch servers associated with the batch group if used.
- Helper batch group: Select a batch group for batch helpers that have been added to run an inventory close, recalculation or reverse in a batch. Batch helpers are also referred to as threads.
- Number of items per bundle: Enter the maximum number of items that can be processed at the same time by a batch helper when the inventory closing is run as a batch job.
- Extra batch helpers:
- Please note that there are no optimum values for these partners, but it depends and optimizes per environment based on the number of transactions and number of items.
