Duplicated leads

Hi

I have excel files with leads. I would like to import the records to the CRM.

the question is how can I import the records and tell the CRM to check if the leads exists just to update a certain field? the purpose is to know if one of our customers is in the leads

other thought with the same issue is to import all records let the CRM import also duplicated records but how can I create a view or workflow to update all the duplicated records and then delete them

thanks, ilan

Yes, there is no need to delete any record here I have suggested to update records, you can refer this post: www.powerobjects.com/.../updating-records-in-microsoft-dynamics-crm

    Thanks

No, you don't need to delete the records at all.

You export all your leads (as a copy, if you like), then update the details of the ones that match your other source list, then re-import the same records to update them with changes you have made. Then import any new records that were not already in CRM.

    Hi

thanks for the answer, about export to excel this means that I have to delete all records from the CRM after exporting . I really don't think this is a good idea.

about run duplicate detection job this is one by one so it is not a good idea also

    any other suggestions?

    Hi,

If you can work little bit with excel it can be done easily if data volume is not much, you can export data from CRM and them can update those excel files using vlook with your source field and target field that you got from CRM, after that you can import this file to CRM and you are done.

Apart from that you can build a .net console app for this data processing.

On the second though you can try to import your records and select allow duplication option when importing record, and then finally can run duplicate detection job and can merge your records.

    Thanks
