Conditional Execution in MSM: Skip Calculations Based on Field Values

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to implement the following scenario in Microsoft Sustainability Manager and would appreciate best practices or workarounds:

In my calculation model, I want to apply a condition to filter the data. Specifically, if the business travel type has a certain value (i.e., the condition is true), the calculation should proceed. If the value is missing or doesn’t match (i.e., the condition is false), the model should simply skip the calculation and exit without error.
However, when I try to save the model with this logic, it doesn’t seem to work as expected. Is there a recommended approach or workaround to implement conditional logic like this in MSM?

Thanks and cheers,
Lea

    Hi Lea,

You could avoid using conditions in the calculation model and instead filter the data in the calculation profile.

However, in that case you'd potentially have multiple calculation models and profiles for business travel. That might not be what you are looking for..

I'm just brainstorming here and don't think this would be the recommended approach. Interested to hear other voices!

    KR,

    Joke.
