Quick question about Multiple Production Environment.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2019wave2/dynamics365-business-central/multiple-production-environments

Can I Create Multiple Production Environment within the same tenant for different localization?

Scenario -

Customer bought a SaaS Tenant.

Created a Production database to US Localized Version.

As they can create an additional production, is it possible to have another production database to be with GB Localized Version?

Or I am reading it incorrectly? If yes then what is the way that a customer can have multiple SaaS Environment for Different Localized Versions?

    Hello,

Most probably 2nd production environment was created using backup/restore functionality.

    learn.microsoft.com/.../tenant-admin-center-backup-restore

You can restore your production environment into a new production environment even if doing so results in exceeding your number of environments or database capacity quotas. You can however only exceed this quota by one extra production environment, regardless of how many production environments you have available for your subscription. This capability is provided as an exception, to ensure that you can always restore your production environment in critical situations. You must return within your quota within 30 days following the restore by either removing the original production environment or by purchasing an additional production environment. Before removing the environment, we recommend you export the environment to an Azure storage container in case you need to access some data at a later point. This exception isn't available for restoring from and to sandbox environments.

It's not an error, you might have purchased additional production environment.

Check Capacity "Environment Quota usage". You will see how much environment customer have.

    Hi Damjan,

You need to contact your Direct CSP to acquire Dynamics 365 Business Central Additional Environment Add-on which activate 1 Prod  + 3 Sandbox.

If you need more space too,  activate Dynamics 365 Business Central Database Capacity ( X GB ) addon

    docs.microsoft.com/.../tenant-admin-center-capacity

Your Direct CSP will provide you costs for each Add-on you are planning to activate.

    Regards, Horia

    Hi All,

I am also trying to create additional production environment for BC Saas, but I think I need to purchase additional license, first. Is this correct?

Do you maybe know who much is the additional licenses?

    Saurav,

I just finished an implementation where I had 2 countries, in addition to a US country. The tenant was in the US and I then added the SKU: Dynamics 365 Business Central Additional Environment Addon (SKU - 642447e8-06fe-4176-b0e4-8745aa293722). I had to purchase this 2 times to add an additional Production and 3 Sandboxes, per Country.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Benken,

The difficulty in upgrading the prod environment is due to an update from Microsoft for recently renewed (before Oct 1 2021) premium and essential Business Central subscriptions where the user is entitled to only 1 production and 3 sandbox environments.

Post upgrade, though your entitlement for additional environment expires, the created additional environment would still be available without any automated charges. But to become compliant, you'll have to purchase additional production environments through your CSP partner within 30 days following the expiration date.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi

We are unable to upgrade our 2 x Production environments from v18 to v19. There are no technical error messages, however the capacity section of the admin center shows we have exceeded our quota of prod environments.

Would this be the reason why?

    Many thanks
