Hi,
I have Activities section under Notes tab on cutom entity (Medical Claim) form, which has "Phone Call" button for custom activity entity (Phone Call).
Now when I click on "Phone Call" button, it open main form for custom "Phone Call" entity and closes the current "Medical Claim" form.
I want to open quick create form of "Phone Call" entity by clicking on "Phone Call" button of Activities section.
i believe you can pass formtypeid of quick create form while opening record
It doesn´t seem to work for custom activities, it is only the normal form pops up when clicking the "+" in subgrids. Has this been verified to ever work in previous versions of CRM 2015 or CRM 2013? Now running the latest build of CRM2015 online (7.0.0.5026).
I am thinking that activities are special since even if the regardingobjectid is set to buisiness required under "Fields" and the N:1 parental relationship towards the specific parent (in my case Opportunity) is set to business required, there are still other N:1 parental relationships that are not business required (towards Lead for example).

I have the same problem.
I created a custom activity entity, create a quick form for it, but when clicking the + on the subgrid it opens the main form and not the quick form (CRM 2015, On-Premis).
seems as a bug.
I tested quick create form for custom activity in my crm 2015 trial and it does not seems to be working the way it should. Sub-grid with specific activity entity also does not open quick create form when user clicks "+".
Activity entities do not support Quick Create forms from the global "Create" button (the button on the navigation there goes to the main form).
Custom activities can be enabled for Quick Create, and you can create QC forms for them.
These are used in two scenarios only:
- lookup to that activity entity, when user clicks +New (albeit lookups to activities are a bit unusual)
- sub-grid of that specific activity entity, user clicks + (does not work on a generic "all activities" subgrid using Activity Pointer)

Yes I have created "Quick Create" form for custom "Phone Call" activity entity, and it's button do appears in + Create (Global Quick Create) button along with other activity entities.
But by clicking it, also navigates to Main form (not quick create)
Did you make a quick Create form for your custom entity? Once you do, you should be able to use it on the "+" menu. However, having two Phone Calls will likely cause confusion, and to my knowledge you can't remove the old phone call activity form Quick Create.

you can't customize social pane. If phone call is an custom activity then one option to open quick create form is add a subgrid in form for activity, when user clicks "+" button from subgrid it will open custom phone call activity in quick create form. If phone call is system activity then system activity does not support quick create form.
That area is not customizable. Better to train them to use the Quick Create phone call at the top of the screen.
