Hello, I would like to have a sales person attached to customer so each time I create a sales order that person is automatically populated on the sales order.
Since we will not be using comission feature in its full capacity, I have decided to use Sales (comission) group on customer form to represent a sales person.
Unfortunately, the Employee responsible field on the Customer does not set the Sales responsible employee on the Sales order. If this is a solution you think might be appropriate, you can vote for this Idea.
If you are not using Order pools (Sales and marketing > Setup > Sales orders > Order pools) for something else, you could create an Order pool for each Sales person, and set that on the Customers (you'll find it on the Sales order defaults fast tab).
I just evaluated that Sales responsible in the Sales Order Header will be populated from the Sales agreement whenever there is a sales agreement that is confirmed for that Customer and item.
as Kevin mentioned unfortunately this is not possible out of the box.
If you just need the sales responsible for commission purpose there is another feature to do this using sales group, where you can setup some sales groups and connect to one or more workers for commission calculation.
There's no such out-of-the-box functionality here, you'll need custom development to suit your needs. You can refer to this old thread: Solved: Define sales taker per customer (dynamics.com). The "Sales responsible" and "Sales taker" fields on the sales order will always take the employee linked to the user who is creating the record, this is not what you expected. If you don't have a developer, you can enlist the help of Microsoft partners who will provide customized services for you: Find the right app | Microsoft AppSource.
Best regards,
Kevin
