Integration of Ax 2009 with D365Fo

Good Morning,

I have 2009 and D365fo .

One scenario is we create transfer orders in 2009 and we want that should be batched and should be created in D365fo.

Is file based Safe ?

should that file be only in XML ?

Please show some light on this whether  i can use another integration approach.

What is the best approach for this kind of integration.

Regards,

Have a nice day.

    Hello AX 2012 r3,

There has been a lot of communication and feedback provided for this thread.

In wonder if your questions have been answered and whether we could verify the answers and thereby complete this thread or if you need any other information?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

I still think that the easiest and cheapest solution is to send an update when the order status changes. Is there some reason why you don't want to do that?

You can search the web for AX2009 and D365FO expose & consume web services if you want to. But just handling the authentication of these calls, and making your AX2009 service accessible from public internet might require much more work than you imagine right now. Of course it's possible.

    Hi martin,

Suppose some one wants to confirm PO in D365FO but Still related intercompany SO in 2009 is not invoiced.SO we must check status for that SO in 2009 whether that is invoiced or not.Once that is invoiced we can allow user to comfirm PO ..and Vice Versa

    Please suggest

What do you mean by "making consecutive calls to check status"? When do you want to make such calls? And wouldn't it be better if the other system notified you when status changes, rather then you keep asking?

Note that making direct calls is not the only choice. For example, a status change notification could be message in a message queue. In D365FP, you may be able to create such messages without any coding (through business events).

    Hi Nikolaos,

Yeah thats what i want now.

Because now this became Sync as per requirement to make consecutive calls D365 to 2009 and 2009 to D365. So in order to develop that please provide me some high level steps so that i can start.

    Can we take scenario of

1.Create PO manually in D365 then in 2009 we must create sales order and making consecutive calls to check status of 2009 SO from d365fo.

2.Create PO manually in 2009 then sales order must create SO in D365 and making consecutive calls to check status of D365 SO from 2009.

Please suggest some examples so that i can refer and start.

Please show some light on this

You can send an update to the other system when order status changes. Of course you can also develop web services so that the systems can query each other in real time. But that requires development.

    Hello,

I believe this document answers your doubts. The communication is interactive and should support the example you produced. I have not tested it personally but it is worth a try.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../recurring-integrations

Let me know if this helps.

You can use RIS for that, it works both ways. Perhaps you could study it a bit more before rejecting it.

RE: Integration of Ax 2009 with D365Fo

    Hi martin,

why we are not using Recurrence integration scheduler is because we have to consecutively talk to d365fo from 2009.

Example - intercompany scenario .created PO in D365fo and We created SO in 2009 and once we do pick and pack in 2009 we need to lock PO in D365fo (so in that case we need to talk to D365fo to lock that ). Once invoiced in 2009 again talk with D365fo to unlock PO.

So how can we achieve this through recurence integration.

    Please suggest.
