How to run Scheduled Jobs in Dynamics 365 Business Central

Hello All,

We want to run Scheduled Jobs in Dynamics 365 Business Central, can anyone provide the precise steps to configure the Jobs in BC. Also, our requirement is to build job for Custom Codeunit (not OOTB Codeunit). If anyone can share example of how BC jobs can be built for Custom Code unit it would be great. Aside to this you can also share any documentation or links other than Microsoft(as Microsoft doesnt have examples of Custom Codeunit) related to the same.

Regards,

Dhawal J.

    Hi Dhawal,

To run custom codeunit / report using job queue is same as to run any OOTB codeunit / report using job queue .

    Steps are as:

    • Create the codeunit / report that you want to run through Job  queue.
    • Open Job Queue entries page
    • Select the object type and give the object no that you want to run.
    • Now in the recurrence select the days on which you want to run this Job
    • In the field No of minutes between run, enter the minutes after which you want to run this job again and again
    • In the fields Starting Time and Ending  Time enter the time of the day when the Job queue should run on the days that you have specified earlier.
    • Now use the action Set status to Ready at top of page and your Job queue will run in next minute. If you want to run your Job queue at a specific time for the first time and not now then before using the action Set status to ready put Date and time in Earliest  Start Date time.

Let me know where exactly you need further help
