Hello Team,
I'm trying to update the unit of the item which has a active cost price, from KG to PC, i have created a unit conversion for the item from KG to PC. but when i try to update the unit, i get a message saying

the inventory unit for item cannot be changed because activated cost prices exist. The cost prices can only be deleted by deleting the item.

how can i change the unit without affecting previous transactions and prices

Thank you

    Hi,
You need to recreate the item, where it cannot be deleted you need to rename it then transfer the stock to the new item. This is best practice suggested by Microsoft, just like the error message said. Or you can try to use a default Unit on the Inventory parameters which is applied to all new items.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi,
Based on the prompt, you can try the standard method mentioned in the old thread, it mentions that you can delete and recreate the item. If you don't want to do anything with previous transactions, try the default Unit on the Inventory parameters, for more details, please check: Solved: Cannot change inventory unit (dynamics.com)
    Best Regards,
