Created planned order creates automatically explosion of the BOM on Tier 1 env with planned orders

Hi,

I'm facing a issue which I don't why it happens.
We have two env, one is Tier 1 (v34) and the other is Tier 2 (v34) with planning optimization on with the same setup (master plans, coverage group etc..) on both.

On the Tier 1 env when I create a planned order (final product), it automatically creates the explosion of BOM and creates planned orders for it's components.
On the formula lines we have the line type - item for the components.

So I can't figure out what's the reason for such a behaviour.

Thank you for any ideas or solutions.

    Hi Mariano,

    thank you for the feedback.

The issue was yeah with planning optimization. The deprecated MRP exploded BOMs during the creation of planned order, but planning optimization isn't doing that.
So to solve the issue we have two options:
    • deactivate the planning optimization for that legal entity
    • use explode BOM level at running planning optimisation

The fit analysis was done and there where non errors or issues.

    HI DRR!

*Sorry, i forgot to mark as suggested answer*

For planning optimization to be installed, one requirement is to have a tier 2 environment:

The difference between both could be that t2 env works with planning optimization, and the t1 env executes the deprecated MRP.

Did you run the fit gap analysis?
You may using a formula functionality that is not allowed for planning optimization.

Here you have some links with the difference between Deprecated engine and planning optimization
And fit analysis, that shows the supported functionalities:
