CRM - China - Connection issues, how to deal with them?

Goodday

We use Dynamics 365 CRM/ Sales globally. Our data center is in Europe (crm4) so we know that the latency for people in South America, North America and the whole of Asia will be not as good as here in Europe but so far that has been fine.

We are struggling with connectivity in Asia, in china especially and I am wondering how other companies cope with it.

sometimes connectivity is just a bit slow, sometimes it goes up and down, and in the worst cases people are sometimes not able to login to CRM (but also not able to use skype / teams properly etc.

I know that it is possible to have a CRM app on a phone or tablet which is able to work offline, would something like that be an idea to bridge this problem?

So I'm just really looking for ideas how to get people in China to Work in CRM without losing connectivity

    Hi Erik

We have the same issue but its not due to latency. Its the internet connectivity issue.

    1. What we have seen is the bandwidth allocation was 90% and we started facing slowness & timeouts during login or advanced find search.

    2. Also, on wifi we face this most of the time. It works smooth on LAN. So trying switching network on laptop.

    3. For mobile & tablet apps, WiFi connectivity dependency will be there.

Suggestion is to check with your network team for bandwidth, if they can allocate particular to CRM URL. You can also check with Microsoft on this. Apparently, I couldn't help in this direction since we have a network team here that care of this.

PS: My data center is also in Europe and client access it from Johannesburg, South Africa. Latency min is 150 ms +

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

As you said connectivity issues are mainly in china and your data center is in Europe.

1)Since it is CRM 4.0 and as i remember mobile app is not available for this version because it doesnot have support of Mobile forms to have a mobile app and may be you have to develop a solution like a mobile app where you can import the customizations of CRM and let the users will work remotely and then users can sync their data to main server and one thing that time also you have to face the sync issues.

    2) May be you can increase the speed of the internet for the users who is using CRM and check for the local internet connectivity.

3)Keep on checking the server maintenance and check for the load balancer at the peak time whether it is  hitting the same server or different server.

4)If there is a huge data then try to Archive the data and keep the recent data which is useful for the business transactions.

    5) If possible increase the OLEDB timeout at the server.

6)Try to upgrade the from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2013.

7)Try to check the javascript customizations which is causing more time to load the forms.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Thangamani
