Booking multiple resources for multiple days (using resource groups, or any other type of resource requirement)

Anyone know of a way to use the Schedule Board or Schedule Assistant to book multiple resources for multiple days?

For example, lets say there is a need to book 30 consultants for a period of 6 months.

This could be implemented as a Resource Group containing 30 resources with the role of "consultant".

However, when you press the "Book" button on the resource group, it is not possible to book the 30 consultants for the 6 months. When using resource groups, it appears that searching for a duration longer than 8 hours, returns no results.

Using a "Resource Requirement" does allow you to book someone out for 6 months, but only for one bookable resource at a time, so it would be cumbersome and error prone to repeat that process 30 times.

Has anyone found a solution that allows Dynamics 365 PSA to book multiple-resources across multiple days?

I can confirm this issue with Field Service, the system will not "suggest" a booking primarily since it offers up no resources to make the booking. Quite shocking really and it's a real shame it is isn't highlighted as a deficiency in documentation, it's a bit disingenuous as it has an article on how to book multiple resources and another article describes booking over multiple days but nowhere does it highlight that a combination of both is not possible.

Scenario 3: Schedule a multi-day requirement to multiple resources appears to be a dead link.

    Hi Hugo,

If my understanding is correct, you wish to have the multi-resource scheduling experience provided in Field Service by using the Resource Group (RG) to create individual bookings for all individual members of a RG docs.microsoft.com/.../multi-resource-scheduling-requirement-groups

Perhaps creating a Power Automate flow that will loop over all resources of your group and create for each of them a booking can do the trick. Don't forget to adjust the requirement to reflect it's completed (e.g. fulfilled duration , remaining duration to 0 etc.).

    Kind regards,

    Alex

Hi Hugo Herrera in fact there is no such a way to schedule multiple resources for multiple days (or months) on the schedule board).

However you can consult this article Scenario 3: Schedule a multi-day requirement to multiple resources

Also you can try to book your resource groups (if this is a resource available on the schedule board) but instead of using the "total duration" of the requirement (let say 6 months) you can change the "Available duration" to 8hours per day, this will let you see your resources a per each work day is only for 8 hours maximum and then the schedule board will let you create the booking request for  6 months (calculated with the start and end dates) using 8 hours per day for each day until complete the 6 months.

    Hope this can help you.
