Dear all, trying to get a better understanding where the IOM should be used and why. In my landscape I have a single D365 CE instance handling the lead to order process (sales) and I do have number of companies on D365 F&O - some having production capabilities driven by D365 SCM.
I need to integrate the CE and F&O ... single instance CE to number of F&O companies under same F&O instance. Is the IOM fitting into this landscape ?
I do see other options like Dual Write or the Data Integrator approach Synchronization of sales orders directly between Sales and Supply Chain Management - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Docs .
Unfortunately, I cannot see pros and cons sharply now. I understand in situations where the source systems and fulfilment systems differ, the IOM is a great fit. While in my situation - is there any benefit or it is a complication ?
In production situation, is it recommended to deploy IOM on the same instance as the D365 CE ?
Thank you, Daniel.
