Release Purchase Requisition that is Over Budget

Hey Everyone,

I have run into a scenario I am looking for help with. Basically, the user wants to have budget control turned on but not be stopped by anything in the system. They just want warnings every time they are over budget in any documents (purchase requisition, purchase orders, vendor invoices, etc).

We have budget control turned on for specific main accounts. We have an over-budget user group with permission to go over budget.

- Create a purchase requisition that is over budget

- The approval workflow gets completed so the purchase requisition is approved.

- But, now I can not release the purchase requisition. I can not do it with the batch jobs or manually.

Does anyone have a way to do this?

The end goal is the user wants to get warnings but never be stopped in their process.

Thanks!

No. I think what I was trying to do is against what the system would let me.

I have not been able to check if they are in the over-budget group that the user will move forward, but thanks for the response! I know I was in the over-budget group but couldn't get a PR to release.

    Hi,

Click Budgeting > Setup > Budget control > Budget control configuration.

    Click Over budget permissions.

In the Over budget options field, select the appropriate option for this user group.

Allow over budget processing – Users in this group can process a budget register entry if the available budget balance is insufficient to cover the entry.

If you are using DAX, there is a button "reserve budget funds" on PR in financial tab, you need to click for approved PR in DAX. Then it will be visible to approved PR.

    Best Regards,

    Charlotte
