AX Data Upgrade | Error on Step 3

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade the AX 2012 R3 DB in a Microsoft OneBox D365 F&O environment (10.0.33) running on-premises. During the upgrade process I encountered the following error:

Executing step: 3
GlobalUpdate script for service model: AOSService on machine: localhost
perform data upgrade, sync AX database and deploy SSRS report
The running command stopped because the preference variable /ErrorActionPreference/ or common parameter is set to Stop: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The certificate chain was issued by an authority that is not trusted.)
The step failed

Anyone faced a similar issue? Can someone guide towards a solution. Thanks.

    Hi @RudyZhang,

    Thank you for replying.

"You may need to check the SSL certificate on the server to make sure it is valid and trusted. If the certificate is self-signed, you may need to add it to the trusted root certificate authority on the machine running the upgrade."

I'm using the Microsoft OneBox VHD for the running the AX2012 to D365 Finance data upgrade. The VHD does use self-signed certificates, how do I add these to the trusted root certificate authority?

You mentioned step 3, but we don't know what step it is, because you didn't tell us what list of steps you're following. Please elaborate.

For reference, here is documentation of the process: Upgrade from AX 2012 to finance and operations.

    Hi,

Based on the information you have provided, our team has analyzed your error and here are our team's guesses.

Have you checked the SSL certificate? The error message indicates that there is a problem with the SSL certificate chain and the server does not trust it. This could be due to a number of reasons, such as an expired certificate or you are using a self-signed certificate.

You may need to check the SSL certificate on the server to make sure it is valid and trusted. If the certificate is self-signed, you may need to add it to the trusted root certificate authority on the machine running the upgrade.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Rudy Zhang
