Procurement category - Error: Invalid category name specified.

Posted on by 2,430

Hi,

I have verified these 3 things below, but I still have the error.  Please suggest where I should look?  Thanks so much!.

1. This category is active

2. Category "Construction in progress" has moved to the right. Screenshot 2.

2. This category is mapped to an account in the Inventory posting.

    Hi

Steps look good. Could you try checking the policy sometimes the Category role policy access.

    >Procurment & Sourcing > Setup> Policies > Purchasing Policies.

    Thanks,

    Hi Kim,

Looking at screenshots, the setup looks correct. but anyway to reiterate, check the date of activation of the purchasing policy, and the requested date on PR is applicable for that policy. Also, how are you selecting the procurement, did you copy-paste it or you can see it in lookup? If it is not showing in lookup but you are copy-pasting it manually then there is a problem with the setup. Also Try retiring the access policy rule and see if you can select the category. If nothing of this works then probably it is customization.

Also if this is not related to any customization; please check by deleting this category and re-create and see if this works!

    Kim,

Apart from what Sourav mentioned, I can't find anything in the validation logic that could be an issue.

Do you have any customization here for some parameter?

I wonder why other category works, but this one doesn't.  I mirror the setup from the one that works, yet it's still not working.

Please check in category policy rule in purchasing policy form and see what vendor selection criteria you set for the category.

    Hi Gunjan,

Yes, it's still here. I edit the original name to Test and create a new one Construction in progress".  I verified the 3 set up things above.  The error incurs again.  Job, position, and relationship work for AP.  Do these things impact category validation?  If so, where is the link/trigger point? Thanks
