Planning optimization master plan run, isn't grouping automatically products

Hello,

I've an issue when I run planning optimization the products are not grouped automatically in planned orders. This was working but now it's not anymore (v37).

Example:
A - final product  (1pcs)
B - BOM product (2pcs per 1pcs of A)

Previusly when I created manually two planned orders for product A:
Planned order A = 2 pcs
Planned order A = 1 pcs
And confirmed it and then I runned planning optimization the result was:
Planned order B = 6 pcs
It automatically grouped the req. for both planned orders in one planned order for BOM product.

But now it's doing like this:
Planned order A = 2 pcs
Planned order A = 1 pcs
Planned order B = 4 pcs
Planned order B = 2 pcs

So I'm really confused why it's working now like this.

Thank you in advance!

    Hi,

This actually depends on how we define the coverage group. If it’s period then what’s the coverage period days. If requirement is falling in that coverage period days then system will group the planned order.

Please check your coverage group type and check the demand date.

Hopefully this will resolve your query.

    Please keep us posted.

Good spot DRR. Per this link, Positive days support was added last month:

Let's hope they get the documentation updated to reflect.

    Found out the issue.

The issue is that you need to set on coverage group positive days. If the positive days are set to 0 the planning optimization run won't group orders.

Also reported to MS because as stated on docs:
    • Positive days â€“ The Positive days value isn't used. With Planning Optimization, positive days are considered infinite.

It's strange that the system works like this.

    Hi Hana,

We don't have on the warehouse set to manual, also no runtime filter is set. The explosion happens automatically when we run the planning optimization.

But previously when the explosion was done the system automatically grouped the same item into one order, but now it's not doing it anymore.

    Hi,
There is no mention of this change in the version's new features or modifications, so you may need to check the relevant configuration.
Could you check if the item coverage for the warehouse is set to manual? Did you apply a runtime filter and set the BOM levels to include?
Additionally, you can view the following documentations on troubleshooting plan optimization:

    Best Regards,
