How do I Disable certain users from an Environment only?

Hello All,

We have Dynamics 365 E5 users who have Dynamics 365 CRM (CE) environment.

We have created multiple environments like PROD, TEST, DV, UAT. I need to Disable some users from PROD and UAT environments. I am unable to find that button to click "Disable" and the user gets disabled.

In the instance > Open the Settings menu The Settings menu icon. at the top of the page and select Advanced Settings > Security > Users > select the user > click on Manage security roles and uncheck the  Security roles assigned.

    Or

https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/ > select the environment > Settings > Users > select the user > click on Manage security roles and uncheck the  Security roles assigned.

Thank you Venkatesh, I joined this org a few months back so I found it this way that security group was not assigned to the environments and yes you are right that it should have been a security group and not individual users. I'll check how to remove security roles from a user, if you have any step by step document recommendation then let me know.

    Hi,

The quick and dirty way is not to assigned any security role to the user that should not have an access to the CRM environment.

    Or

Create an Office 365 security group and assign the Office 365 security group in Dynamics CRM “instance security group” field.

Control user access to environments: security groups and licenses - Power Platform | Microsoft Docs

By assigning an Office365 security group, it will minimize the number of users listed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online user list, thus easier to manage.

    Regards,

    Venkatesh N

A user without a security role cannot access an organization

So you need to remove all the security roles for the users you don't want to give access to the dev and uat environments. This operation has to be done on each environment
