Hi,

are we able to change the behavior of the New Record button on a dashboard to use Main Form instead of opening the Quick Create Form?

How to change New Record button in Dashboard to use Main Form instead of Quick Create Form
    Hi Tesla,

To disable the Quick Create form for an entity in Dynamics 365, follow these steps:

    1. Log in to Dynamics 365 and click the Settings icon in the top-right corner. Then, click Advanced Settings.
    2. In the Settings area, navigate to Customizations > Customize the System.
    3. In the left-hand pane, expand Entities.
    4. Click the entity for which you want to disable the Quick Create form. For example, click on Case.
    5. Under Data Services, deselect the Allow quick create checkbox as shown in the below screenshot.
    6. Click Save and then Publish.

After publishing the changes, when you click New in a dashboard for the entity, you will be redirected to the main form for the entity.

    Hope this helps!

How to change New Record button in Dashboard to use Main Form instead of Quick Create Form
    Hi,

for anyone else so the grid view and associated view will always honer the Quick Create Form OOTB unless the Quick Create Form has been disabled then it will fallback to the Main Form.

We handle this by changing the button behavior via Ribbon Workbench, if anyone has a better solution that i missed out on just let me know.. :)

    regards
    Martin
