Item Cost/Prices

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear Experts,

Is there a table available to view  all prices/costs that are linked to each part? Issue im having is while posting stock adjustment journal of £100.00 amount. Once journal is posted and by viewing transaction in general ledger trial balance, it gives me price of £150.00 , is there a way to find out where it's pulling the price per unit from?

Regards

Viz

    Hello Viz,

You can adjust item prices through the closing and adjustment form in the inventory module. Some general information on this can be found e.g. on TechNet technet.microsoft.com/.../aa553192.aspx

Please also have a look at the MS Training materials and / or the Training Videos on the Dynamics learning Portal.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig,

Thanks for your reply. Is there a way to adjust avarage price, so when there's a need to do a stock adjustment it won't be different to general ledger cost?

    Regards

Hi Viz, You can try having a look at the prices setup in your costing versions (inventory-setup-costing-costing versions). The problem with this table is, however, that it might not necessarily give you the price that is used when you post e.g. a sales order or an inventory adjustment journal unless you are using standard costing. That is because of the inventory model your items are linked to and the fact that AX always uses an average running cost price that is later on adjusted e.g. when you process an inventory close. The running averge cost Price for an item can be identified in the on-Hand inventory form in the on-Hand tab at the very end of the window. Hope this Information helps, Ludwig
