Power Automate Document Template not filling

Posted on by
Hello everyone,
I am making a power automate flow that gets the data from a dataverse table, after filling it using the "Populate a Microsoft Word tempalate" I store it in one drive to be able to convert it into pdf, but it turns out that the document saved in one drive is not the one filled (it uses what is obtained as output from the populate word template).
To verify it I did a test adding "Send an email" and putting the same output of the populate word template and it works.

I tried storing it in sharepoint and it doesn't save the completed document either.

thank you in advance for your cooperation

    Hi,

I built a Flow that ran successfully and the document template was successfully populated with the correct values.

You can refer to my Flow:

After I traversed the data in the Dataverse table, I stored it in an array as a json object.

Next I fill this JSON-formatted array directly into the word template.

When you pass in a document template in the form of a table, Flow recognizes it and fills it directly with a json array.
You should note that if you want to pass values in json, then your document template must be recognized by Flow as a Table format. If you have questions about this step, feel free to ask me again.

After running this Flow, my document was perfectly populated with all the data.

I see that the document template you uploaded is in the form of a table, so I recommend that you also try to pass the json object into an array and then populate the document template.

The link on how to make Flow recognize a document template as a Table is as follows:
