Query on Importing Retail Staff in D365 FO

Posted on by 257
Hello everyone,

I'm encountering an issue with importing retail staff (POS Cashiers) in D365 FO. I attempted to use the entities [Workers and Retail Staff], and after importing, the status showed as succeeded. However, I cannot find the record in the workers form.

Can someone advise on the proper way to import retail staff in this scenario?

Your insights and guidance would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Thank you! I've used the following entities and looks like that is the correct way to perform the import of Retail worker master data in D365.

    1. Jobs
    2. Positions V2
    3. Employee V2
    4. Retail Staff

    Hi,

The entities 'Worker' and 'Retail staff' are correct.
You also need the entity 'People' in case you want to import workers using a partynumber.
For the rest you also need 'Employment' and 'Position'. These last two could be the reason why you don't see the workers yet, because they don't have an active employment.

    Hey Judy,

Thanks for your response. Actually, I'm trying this out in a demo environment and as mentioned earlier the execution was succeeded without any error messages. That's why I was wondering if I'm using the wrong data entities to import the retail staff.

Hi, there are many reasons that can lead to this issue. You can check the mapping field and see if it is mapped correctly. Then go back and see if the ENTITY[Workers and Retail Staff] is customized, if so, you can go and check what the table corresponding to the specific ENTITY is and see if the data in the table is inserted correctly. And you can check the related log messages, maybe something is wrong with it.
